All the app needs is where you are. After that, the patterns start to show.
Wime records when you arrived, how long you stayed and how you got to the next place, so you end up with a detailed picture of how your day went. There's room to write a note about every stop along the way.

So it can notice when you arrive and leave places while the app is closed. Without Always, Wime only records while it's open. It uses Apple's visit monitoring, which is built to run all day on very little power.
Wime asks you to choose a monthly or yearly plan. You aren't charged during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends in your Apple ID settings. Your data stays on your phone either way.
Wime keeps a copy of your timeline on your phone, so reinstalling brings everything back. The data never leaves the phone. If you want it gone too, use Erase all data in Settings before you delete the app.
